Describe what happened
A useful account separates observation from interpretation. Describe what you saw or heard, how long you were observing, and whether you were on shore or on a boat. If you are unsure about the number of dolphins or their species, say so rather than filling in a guess.
You might include the date, a general location, the animals’ movements, and the order in which events happened. Describe an unusual interaction in your own words. There is no need to turn an interesting moment into a claim about what an animal intended.
Add context where you have it
Photos or short clips can be attached in your email app. Mention if a clip has been shortened, slowed down, or edited, and explain which part of the encounter it shows. Keep your original files so that the context remains available if you want to refer to it later.
Share only details you are comfortable sending. A general area can be enough for an initial conversation; this page does not require your home address or precise coordinates. If other people appear in a photo, consider whether you want to include that image.
Set your preferences
Let Noah know whether your message is simply a personal account, a question, or something you would be interested in discussing for the publication. Sending an email does not automatically publish your story or subscribe you to the newsletter.
